Chasing After Gold
"The man who loves gold will not be reckoned virtuous, the man who chases after profit will be caught out by it. Many have gone to their ruin for the sake of gold, though their destruction stared them in the face; it is a snare for those who sacrifice to it, and every fool will be caught in it. Happy the rich man who is found to be blameless and does not go chasing after gold."
Eccl. 31: 5-8
Do you chase after profit only to buy the last tick of an up move? Have you ever held on to or added to a losing trade "though your destruction stared you in the face?" "Happy the rich man who waits for a definite change in trend before entering the market and does not chase the market."
The Bible among other things is a handbook of futures market laws. Throughout the Bible you will find stories about the rise and fall of man. The most famous of which is the story of Adam and Eve. The best way to explain their story is in market terms. While living in the Garden of Eden, God promised to give them everything that they needed. In market terms, their trend was up. They had everything going for them until they decided to go for it all. Does that sound familiar? Do not all rising markets start off with a slow steady trend? At certain points, however, the market like Adam and Eve becomes unsatisfied with its trend and decides to go for it all. Unfortunately, at this point the market usually exhausts itself and the trend changes to down. In effect, Eve "picked" the top of the market. We read about the same type of rise and fall in the story of Noah also. In fact, throughout the history of mankind, the rise and fall story repeats. This is natural law in action.
The hidden message about market laws is one of many veiled references in the Bible. Others refer to time periods and time cycles. Unfortunately, the original Bible was written in Hebrew and Greek. Many of us are unable to translate the original works. The Hebrews and Greeks used numbers as well as letters when they wrote. Since the English language is structured differently, many of the original thoughts and symbols have lost their meaning. For example, Adam, the perfect man, made in the image and likeness of Elohim, is enumerated according to the Hebraic Alphabet as: 1a 4d 4m = 144. This is also the Hebrew number meaning "Fullness of Stature." This also translates into 12X12 or the square of 12. Any serious Gann student knows of the square of 12 or the square of 144 and its importance to the market.
This is just a small sample of what is hidden in the Bible regarding the markets. If this subject interests you, then by all means continue to pursue it. It may not give you immediate financial rewards, but mentally and spiritually you will gain immensely. Gann states in the Tunnel Thru the Air, "If we make calculations from the date and place of birth, I think we can determine what our future is to be, and in this way live according to cause and effect, which is God's divine law."
In order to forecast future cycles, the most important thing is to begin right, for if we have the right beginning, we will get the right ending. If we know the cause of the effect, then there can be no doubt about predicting the future event or effect.
True Knowledge

All that is hidden, all that is plain, I have come to know, instructed by Wisdom who designed them all.
